About Jesse Rose West

I am passionate about horses and humans, and how they can connect on a deeper level. For over 25 years, I have been a professional equine trainer and coach, helping both species achieve their full potential. I have a unique set of skills that allow me to work with the Body, Mind and Spirit of the Horse and Human.

BODY: I am a personal trainer for horses and humans, helping them improve their health, performance and physical fitness. I design customized programs that suit their individual needs and goals.

MIND: I have a strong scientific background, with a BS and MS in Biology, focusing on Mammalogy and Teaching. I use my knowledge of animal behavior, physiology and psychology to communicate and understand horses and humans.

SPIRIT: I have a gift for animal communication, which enables me to tune in to the feelings and thoughts of horses and humans. I also practice Body and Breath Work, Reiki, and Shamanic Healing, which help me balance and heal the energy of both species. I help them connect with their inner wisdom, intuition, and purpose. I also guide them to explore their spiritual connection with nature, the universe, and each other.

APPROACH: I combine all of these skills together, using my horsemanship, intuitive abilities and science and teaching degrees, to create a holistic approach for the horse and the human to find harmony. I believe that by working with the body, mind and spirit of the horse and human, we can achieve a deeper connection, a greater understanding, and a more fulfilling relationship. I invite you to join me on this journey of transformation and joy.

What clients have to say…

“Jesse brings an incredibly varied tool kit with her to each session and finds a way to bring out the best in every horse. Her great eye and ability to break things down into pieces the rider can understand and feel make her a great teacher as well as trainer. Her in-hand /piaffe /passage skill set is very unique in the competitive dressage world and make her able to bring out the best in horses and riders of all levels.” ~ Jen Verharen, Equestrian Performance & Business Coach, Owner of Cadence Coaching

"Love the balance, softness, and thoroughness" Jesse says, speaking of the horse. I am in the beginning of this journey. Jesse is a rare find...brilliant, authentic, and invested. Through her coaching techniques, she is able to clarify chaos, simplify purpose, and inspire others to realize their true potential growth. Through the movement of the horse, creating a flow with my breath, taking every stride together, chaotic thoughts begin to align and a beautiful calmness fills the voids. In this space, I begin to know myself. It becomes a safe space to reflect. I am excited to continue to work with Jesse as are my clients to not only improve the relationship with the horses but to improve relationships within ourselves. I trust Jesse and encourage others to do the same to help create in their own lives... balance, softness, and thoroughness." ~ Mija Sims, Owner & Trainer of Mija Dressage

“Jesse West is someone who I look forward to working with every month. Every horse I have brought to her (5+) has improved from her work. She’s an excellent hand and eye on the ground to add to your team. I give her great credit for the improvements that I have made with all my personal and training horses I have brought to her. Her ability to break things down in a digestible and repeatable way for horses and riders is one of her best skills and I have yet to have a horse or client who hasn’t benefited from her assistance. She is one I will bring any level of rider or horse to and know that there will be good take aways for everyone.” ~Alexandra Brooks, Owner & Trainer of Alexandra Brooks Dressage

“I’ve been lucky to call Jesse both my teacher and friend and I admire her on so many levels. She is a kind and intuitive human and that translates into her work. What most impressed me when I first started working with Jesse, is not what she could teach. I already knew she was incredibly knowledgeable and talented. But rather, it was that she took the time to really listen to my concerns about my horse’s history, his temperament, his insecurities, and that building his trust and confidence in the work was the highest priority. He thinks and moves in ways that often requires an outside-the-box approach. She not only listened to me but to my horse as well. We took a very slow approach in developing half steps. We never started the lesson with a set agenda, rather worked with the horse we had on that day. Through this approach, we were able to build a solid foundation and then proceed with development. I trust Jesse to teach me her masterful ways, and Jesse trusts me to know my horse best. I would say that’s a beautiful partnership!” ~ Brenda Rone
